It’s easy to print labels with variable content using Custom QuickLabel Omni labeling software. And, as an intelligent label printer, the QLS-4100 Xe can be custom-programmed via its host protocol to print labels with variable information content pulled from a database or ERP system. About the QLS-4100 Xe’s Color Thermal Transfer Label Printing Technology:
Color thermal transfer printing technology offers some unique label printing advantages: the ability to print long-lasting, durable labels in special, dedicated colors including white and metallic gold and silver. This is possible because, instead of using inkjet ink or toner, the QLS-4100 Xe uses color thermal transfer ribbons as printing ink. The QLS-4100 Xe prints colorfast labels that resist significant environmental exposures to abrasion, extreme temperature, moisture, moderate solvents (including fats and oils), and resist fading from UV light exposure. The QLS-4100 Xe printing process begins when a roll of thermal transfer ribbon is loaded onto each of the QLS-4100 Xe’s four print stations. If CMYK process printing is desired, these stations are loaded with cyan, yellow, magenta, and black ribbons. If spot color printing is desired, these stations can be loaded with any four spot color ribbons, including white ribbon, metallic color ribbons, or even a clear ribbon to act as a “protective” overprint. A roll of blank, self-adhesive label or tag stock is loaded onto the label supply station. The QLS-4100 Xe can print on either die-cut or continuous label and tag materials. When the QLS-4100 Xe receives the message to print, it advances the blank label material while thermal elements on each print station selectively heat areas on the thermal transfer ribbons, transferring heated ink onto the surface of the moving label material.
